IM Core Faculty Opportunities - NE Ohio!
JOB ANNOUNCEMENT – TWO POSITIONS AVAILABLE!
Internal Medicine
Northeast Ohio
Associate Program Director of Internal Medicine
Core Faculty in Internal Medicine Residency Program
Northeast Ohio Internal Medicine Residency program is seeking two BC/BE internists with a strong passion for teaching.  This position requires interaction with residents and students, including, but not limited to:  day-to-day supervision of resident activity; coordination of call; vacation and conference schedules; participation in recruitment campaigns and on-site candidate visits; assisting in the development and implementation of curriculum; and playing an integral part in the policy making process for all activities of the Internal Medicine training program.  Additionally, the APD is responsible for a variety of undergraduate and graduate teaching duties, as well as participation in scholarly activity such as clinical investigation, literature review, and devising new medical education methods.
We have two exceptionally strong, vibrant, expanding, debt-free hospitals (1200 beds), which participate in our joint IM residency program and are only five minutes apart.  Both hospitals are nationally ranked and are supported by excellent library resources and staff.  We are locally-managed, nonprofit organizations.  The Internal Medicine program supports over 30 residents representing each PGY level. Additionally, we are a major teaching campus for Northeast Ohio Medical University and work alongside four other residency programs including Family Medicine, Transitional, OB/GYN and Radiology.  Our active and courtesy medical staff is made up of approximately 1000 physicians, 95% of whom are board certified.  There is tremendous support from the volunteer faculty! For example, 150 physicians are involved and 75% of the subspecialists on the hospital staff actively teach.  Our program
has generated a wealth of well-trained physicians, some of whom have remained in the area.
The area is perfect for the physician who wants the amenities of city life along with the pleasures of a smaller community.   Just over an hour south of Cleveland, our scenic community boasts exceptionally strong schools and universities, two international airports, several country clubs, cultural and music centers, and a four-season climate.  Additionally, our community enjoys one of the lowest cost of living indices around.
The compensation and benefits package includes a very competitive salary and bonus; retirement savings plan; family health care (including dental and optical), malpractice and disability insurance; CME and professional dues allowance; and 6 holidays, 25 vacation days, 8 sick days, and 10 days for CME/professional development.
