An exceptional, hospital based opportunity for a well-qualified BC/BE Neurological Intensivist with a special interest in stroke and management of neurosurgical critically ill patients. This group will manage and staff the Neuro ICU and stepdown unit as well as care for patients with a full range of neurological diseases. The candidate will thrive and excel in a team atmosphere and regard continuity of care as a cornerstone of patient management. There is an existing Stroke Service and Stroke team that works cooperatively with the neurological critical care service.
The successful candidate will be a part of a team of excellent neurologists and neurosurgeons that comprise the Neuroscience Institute. The Institute is a collaboration of the School of Medicine at the University and a large and successful multi-hospital system. This physician group includes neurology physicians with subspecialties in vascular neurology, interventional neurology, neurological intensive care, epilepsy, movement disorders, neuro-endocrinology, general neurology, and memory disorders. The group also includes neurosurgeons with various subspecialties including functional and epilepsy neurosurgery. The Institute has an active basic science research program with active funding that is an option for collaboration. Academic rank at the School of Medicine commensurate with academic achievements and involvement in student and resident education is part of the commitment of those involved in the Institute.

The candidate will be functioning clinically within the Hospital:
· 42 Bed Neuroscience step down unit
· Neuroscience ICU
· Level I TraumaCenter
· One of Ohio's busiest adult emergency departments
· CareFlight Air & Mobile transportation
· EMR and wireless communication
· Well established referral base
