 Hospital Employed setting. Incoming physician would be sole provider in town for GI. Reason for need: The County and surrounding counties do not have a full-time Gastroenterologist. The service area is approximately 300,000 people who have to drive to St. Louis for care. Call Coverage: ER call restricted to availability of schedule, would have General Surgery backup if needed. This would be a traditional setting of inpatient/outpatient (hospital/office). Office space available close to hospital campus. Hospital has a newly expanded surgical services department consisting of 5 operating suites (2 with laminar air flow), 1 Urology room, and 1 endoscopy room. Also included in the surgical services area is a new central sterile suite along with an 8 bed post anesthesia recovery unit and a 12 bed same day surgery unit. Hospital Stats: ER visits (2011) = 9,782 Surgeries: inpatient = 597, outpatient = 2,810 Hospital is offering a competitive financial package to include salary (based on MGMA guidelines), incentive, comprehensive benefit package (CME, malpractice, vacation, disability, life, retirement, health/dental), potential for signing/commencement bonus, potential for medical education debt assistance and potential for residency/fellowship stipend.
