This position is a Traditional PCP practice. There is hospital call at the Medical Center about 2 miles north of this facility. There is shared hospital call which turns out to be an average of 5 weeknights (range is 3 to 6 weeknights) per month and 1 in 4 weekends per month. When one of the physicians is on vacation, call can fluctuate a little. They have a hospitalist that covers 3 weeks of weeknights per month and the remaining days are shared by 3 physicians.
There is some nursing home work with this position. There is one nursing home and new patients have to be seen within 48 hours of being admitted. Currently if there is a need to see patients in the nursing home, it has been done after clinic hours on Thursday afternoons. The new physician can arrange nursing home time as they like.
