The Position General description: Opportunity to join an established internal medicine practice with offices conveniently located adjacent to hospital. Office hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM: M-F Percentage of IP & OP: 100% OP currently; open to possibility of seeing inpatients. Expected patient load: 16-20 per day (no hospital patients) Reason for open position: Busy, growing Internal Medicine practice; new patients Attractions To The Position Community: Located in heart of Blue Ridge Mountains, County contains portions of the Great smoky Mountains National Park, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Appalachian Trail, 2 Federal wilderness areas, and large areas of National forest. Mild summers, due to altitude, and generally mild winters because of southern latitude. Wealth of recreational activities - hiking, camping, golf, mountain and road bicycling, horseback riding, fishing, hunting, downhill skiing, snowboarding, and tubing. County offers a variety of excellent restaurants, and local cultural events, with an active arts community. Asheville is 20 minutes away by interstate with most urban amenities. Our group: It is a National Health Service Corps (NHSC) site, which qualifies for Federal student loan assistance. Other: We anticipate that a new internist would be quite busy immediately.
